Federal Councillor Alain Berset wants to show that the members of the government work well together, despite their different points of view, and that they are committed to the good of the country. The photographer Matthieu Gafsou was inspired by genre painting for this picture. The flying leaves, with a poem by Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz, discreetly evoke the chaos and global tensions that seem much more present today than in the past. "In a period of uncertainty and crisis, the photograph must be both reassuring and sober. It is intended to show the unity of the Federal Council and the good collaboration of its members, despite the different points of view," says Federal Councillor Alain Berset, who will be President of the Confederation in 2023.”

Le conseiller fédéral Alain Berset souhaite montrer que la collaboration entre les membres du gouvernement est bonne, en dépit de points de vue différents, et qu’ils s’investissent ensemble pour le bien du pays. Pour réaliser cette photo, le photographe Matthieu Gafsou s’est inspiré de la peinture de genre. Les feuilles qui volent, sur lesquelles figure un poème de Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz, évoquent discrètement le chaos et les tensions mondiales qui semblent bien plus présents aujourd’hui qu’hier. « Dans une période d’incertitudes et de crises, la photographie doit être à la fois rassurante et sobre. Elle entend montrer l’unité du Conseil fédéral et la bonne collaboration de ses membres, malgré les points de vue différents », indique le conseiller fédéral Alain Berset, qui sera président de la Confédération en 2023.
